Kino Mistral

Kino Mistral was born in Milan where he graduated from the faculty of Architecture. At the same time he worked on painting and made experiments with kinetic art and sculpture. His interest in ethnic sculptures and exotic art, led him to travel different countries of the world such as Central and Southern America, Saharan and Equatorial Africa, the Middle East and the Asian Southeast, where he was inspired by the artistic expressions of the different populations. He lived in New York for two years, witnessing the liveliest and most sophisticated art scene at the time to develop. Here he also met Andy Warhol and Robert Rauschenberg. Marrying in Palermo, he fell in love with the people and the colors of Sicily. Even if he worked as architect and interior designer for many years -- projecting around 300 villas and public structures in Milan, Sicily and Tuscany -- his first love and passion remains Art and painting, Art critics assert that the years working as architect and designer have mainly contributed to the development of his peculiar painting and to the geometric precision of his pictures. His paintings were acquired by private collectors and institutions in Washington D.C., USA, Madrid, London, Lisbon and the Brussels.
