Born in 1976, Mirko Lamonaca lives and works in the northern Italian town of Bergamo. With the years the themes selected by the artist have been defined in lunar and minimal landscapes, describing through what is essential, the position of the man, alone. In 2008 Mirko La Monaca presented the new serie “Synthesizing”. The photos presented at I-C are part of the serie "Synthesizing Berlin": Conceptually he takes his photographs and makes them different by cutting their original structure, changing their atmosphere. He eliminates the original colours, creating new tones, and giving the works new parameters. He seems to remind and to consacrate this imaginary Berlin to the memory of the past. |
